Visiting a BNI chapter for the first time can feel like walking into a room where everyone already knows each other. The good news is that BNI Sunrise Inferno meetings are built to welcome guests. You do not need to know anyone, and you do not need a polished pitch.
Here is the short version.
We meet every Thursday at 7:00 AM at Island Lake Diner in Ronkonkoma. You sign in, meet members over coffee, give a short introduction about your business, hear every member describe the referrals they want, and leave with new contacts. Visiting carries no obligation and no pressure to join. You just need to register ahead of time.
Why People Visit Sunrise Inferno
Most business owners on Long Island get their best customers from word of mouth. BNI turns word of mouth into a weekly habit.
Sunrise Inferno is a chapter of BNI (Business Network International). Our members come from automotive, home and property services, financial and legal, marketing, business support and senior care. Each member agrees to look out for the others and pass along real referrals.
The philosophy behind it is called Givers Gain. When you help other people grow their business, they help you grow yours.
Visiting is the easiest way to see whether that model fits how you work.
Before You Arrive
How the Meeting Runs
BNI meetings follow the same agenda every week. That consistency is part of why they work.
Open networking, with coffee and casual conversation
A welcome, chapter updates and a recognition of visitors
Member introductions, where each member shares the exact referral they are looking for that week
Visitor introductions, where you get your turn
A featured presentation, so the group can understand one business in depth
Referrals and results, where members pass referrals and report closed business
The whole thing moves quickly. You will leave knowing more about the local professionals in the room than you would after months of casual networking.
One Seat per Profession
A BNI chapter allows only one member per professional category. If you join as a roofer, for example, you are the roofer the whole chapter refers.
That exclusivity is a big reason members take referrals seriously. It also means your category needs to be open.
Check the Categories page to see which industries are already represented, or tell us your profession when you register and we will let you know.
After the Meeting
Expect a follow up from our team to answer your questions and hear how it went.
Many visitors also book a one-to-one, a short coffee meeting with a member to learn about each other’s businesses. One-to-ones are how members build the trust that turns into referrals.
If you decide the group is a fit, you can apply for membership. Leadership reviews each application to make sure the new member is a good fit for the chapter and their category.

We will see you Thursday morning.
